    State-of -the-art tools for gaining perspective in management and control of manufacturing function in organizations supported by case studies.     IE 582 Business Process Reengineering (3-0)3
    The course concentrates on engineering of organizational processes and systems. The focus is on fundamental redesign of strategic and value-adding bussiness processes. Organizations are modelled as systems in order to gain insight into their structure, proceses and performance. This knowledge is used in engineering more effective organizations and information systems to provide value-added support for organizational evolution.

    IE 583 Qualitative Methods for Engineers (3-0)3
    Qualitative research methods serving as means to better understand and change a complex social phenomenon. Models employed in applied fields for gaining a better understanding of human interactions are among others, qualitative interviewing and observation, Delphi technique, Balanced Scorecard and System Dynamics. Through systematic means the students will gather information about actions and interactions, reflect on their meaning, arrive at and evaluate conclusions, and eventually put forward an interpretation.

    IE 590 Graduate Seminar (0-2)NC
    This seminar is designed to promote research interest in various areas of IE. Master's students must register and fulfill departmental requirements of the seminar.

    IE 600 Ph.D. Thesis NC
    Program of research leading to Ph.D. degree, arranged between student and a faculty member. Students register for this course in all semesters starting from the beginning of their fifth semester while the research program or write-up of thesis is in progress.

    IE 718 Closed-Loop Supply Chains   (3-0)3
    Introduction to closed-loop supply chains and classification of closed-loop supply chains. Strategic drivers for take-back, product and part recovery. Forecasting product returns. Closed-loop supply chain network structures and design. Production/inventory planning models for part/product recovery: stationary and non-stationary deterministic demand, and uncertain demand. Reverse MRP models. Disassembly scheduling and sequencing problems. Some modeling and solution methods for these problems encountered in the design and operations of closed-loop supply chains.
