    The aim of the Ph.D. program in Political Science and International Relations is to prepare students for academic careers. The graduates of the program regularly staff the departments of Political Science or International Relations in various Turkish universities.

    The Ph.D. program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge in their subfields of interest, help them further develop their capacity for critical thinking, and prepare them to undertake intensive, independent research. Students receive close supervision from distinguished faculty members who have expertise in a wide range of research topics.

    Ph.D. Comprehensive Examination Students will be examined by a committee after the completion of at least 24 credits at the Ph.D. level. Students who pass this examination may register for POLS 790
    Dissertation: Students who complete their dissertation are required to defend it.
